Suzie McGuire

Story Highlight

Interviewing celebrities and music stars is part and parcel of Suzie’s job.

You can't be keener on working in radio than breakfast show presenter Suzie McGuire. Sparkly Suzie started out in the industry at the tender age of 15 and now co-hosts 'George and Suzie in the Morning'.

"After joining West Sound Radio straight from school I worked on reception, presented the farming news, travel news and made all the local ads before taking the reins off the breakfast show on West FM. I eventually moved to Clyde 1 over 10 years ago.

"I have the best job in the world - I get to play great music, have a good laugh with George Bowie and our listeners and we get to interview all the top pop acts around.....what's not to love!"

When not working, Suzie loves nothing more than spending time with her husband Derek and her three young kids. Holidays are top of her list too with a certain mouse taking centre stage.

"My favourite holiday involves sunshine, Mickey Mouse, The Magic Kingdom, Main Street USA....and Tinkerbell! Actually, I love holidays in general, so much so that if I wasn't working at Clyde 1 my dream job would be a travel correspondent working out of Sandy Lane in Barbados.

"I do love travelling however Glasgow is a very stylish city too. There is a great vibe and feel about Glasgow – it has cool clubs, first class restaurants and very trendy sexy people!!! It's always great to head out to Karbon or The Network Bar at the weekend. Only one little thing I would change about our fabulous city .the weather! Everything else is pretty damn perfect.....more sunshine please!"

Interviewing celebrities and music stars is part and parcel of Suzie's job.

"My most interesting interviewee was Simon Cowell. He's a true gent and not at all how I expected him to be - he delivered lots of exciting and juicy gossip. He loves it, almost as much as I do!

"My favourite band of all time is Oasis - no explanation necessary! However, Robbie Williams is my top celeb - I've been lucky enough to interview him three times now and he's funny, down to earth and just cool."

George and Suzie in the morning... 6am to 10am weekdays.
