Five things we don't know about you
1. I was once a chef
2. I drive an orange car (though I'll tell you its red)
3. Until the age of 21 I had never tried pizza
4. I'm really only 5ft 4
5. When I was a kid I played with a toy hoover and an ironing board - I'm very domesticated!
I started out by helping sort out records at a hospital radio station (Radio Royal) in Falkirk in 2003 (They wouldn't let me be the tea boy because i wasn't good enough!) I did manage to convince the bosses to allow me on air at the age of 15 (I think the youngest ever presenter there). My 1st proper shot at radio came from a local station in Lanarkshire called L107. I even remember the date of my 1st interview, it was February 14th 2006 (I actually thought I was being taken on a date ha!) From being the Sunday night boy I eventually made it on to the breakfast show (My highlight being part of an advertising campaign on bin lorries "Don't listen to Grant on the radio he's rubbish") I think people took that advice as the station closed the next year and I was out of a job! I've pretty much worked in every other part of Scotland since then, working at Kingdom FM, Central FM, Wave102 and Northsound 1 before starting here at Clyde 1 covering the overnight show in 2011
Career Highlight to date
I have far too many to mention here, number 1 should be getting to cover for George on Bowie @ Breakfast, it's a show I've grown up listing to and its always been one of my dreams to be on it one day. I have also be fortunate enough to do my show from some really cool places like Stirling Castle on Hogmanay with Deacon Blue!
Favourite Scottish Event of the Year
That day in July when it's summer and we all go to Kelvingrove park, lie in the sun with our tops off and try to pretend we are just drinking coca cola when the police pass?
If you could change one thing about Glasgow, what would it be?
I think it's disgusting that in Glasgow we don't have a Taco Bell!
What gives Glasgow its edge?
This one is easy - The People! We make Glasgow
Favourite band of all time?
My favourite band have to be the Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Californication and Stadium Arcadium are two albums that you can put on and listen to from start to finish! Amaze)
What's Glasgow's best kept secret?
If you get the train to Glasgow Central low Level and don't get caught on the train without a ticket you can go up in the lift and avoid the ticket gates - Shhhsh you didn't hear that from me!
Who is the most interesting person you've interviewed?
David Hasselhoff - I wasn't even meant to interview him, his daughters had brought out a horrendous single and i had to pretend to like it just to get to speak to him! I did once interview Elaine Smith who is the MSP for Coatbridge. It took me 30 seconds in to the interview to work out she was actually not Elaine C Smith, that interview was awkward to say the least!
If we gave you £1000 what would you spend it on?
If you weren't a presenter at Clyde 1 what would you be doing?
I'd be an accountant. YAWN
