This outstanding concert tour of the West End Show Jailhouse Rock charts a unique journey through the musical life of the King of Rock n’ Roll. With over 40 Elvis hits, from the innovative days of That’s Alright Mama, to the TV and movie years with GI Blues, and finishing with the stunning performances in Las Vegas – this is as close as you can get to the King. While there are many Elvis impersonators, there are few able to recreate his entire musical recording career, and Mario Kombaou delivers an extraordinary tour de force performance in this two-hour concert. Voted “Images of the King World Champion” in 2005 in Memphis Tennessee, Mario has been described by Donna Presley as “The best Elvis since Elvis”. Against competition from hundreds in the UK and extensive auditions held on Broadway, Mario landed the lead role in the West End production Jailhouse Rock - The Musical and received numerous accolades for his performance. In an effort to keep the magic alive following the West End production, Mario came together with the Musical Producer of Jailhouse Rock David Mackay to create this concert version of the show combining the entire musical life of Elvis with the innovative musical elements of Jailhouse Rock that captivated audiences in London. | Sing a long a Joseph and Sound of Music 2.30 (Joseph) 7.00 (Sound of Music) (Musical Performances) Location: Theatre Royal, Glasgow Ever dreamed of being the star of the show? Now's your chance to steal the limelight in two of the most popular musicals of all time - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the Sound of Music. Dress up as your favourite character from each show and join in the fun at the Theatre Royal for this spectacular sing-a-long event. Sing-A-Long-A…Joseph Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is one of the world’s most successful musicals. Now audiences can enjoy it like never before, as they are invited to dance in the aisles and sing-a-long to every wonderful word. Sing-A-Long-A Joseph takes the multi-million pound film of the original stage show and gives it the inimitable Sing-A-Long-A treatment. The show’s host will lead a vocal warm-up, take the audience through their free “magic moments” pack and suggest some fun actions and heckles to join in with. Then the audience become the stars of the show, singing their hearts out to the on-screen lyrics. The film features heart-throb Donny Osmond, plus a host of favourite stars including Joan Collins, Richard Attenborough, and Christopher Biggins. Add spectacular sets, tons of energy and some of the best songs ever written – Close Every Door to Me, Any Dream Will Do, and Go Go Go Joseph - and the result is a fabulous night out for everyone. Sound of Music Have you ever been to a film musical and had the uncontrollable urge to burst into song? Do you muse over the endless tailoring opportunities for chintz curtains? Have you always wondered what it would be like to wear a wimple? Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music is your chance to test your vocal range with several hundred other assorted nuns, Von Trapp family members and Julie Andrews look-a-likes. The evening begins with a live show in which your host will lead you through a vocal warm-up, judge the fancy dress competition and award the prizes. Costumes are not compulsory but they are highly recommended and you will be amazed at the inventiveness on display. The host will then show you how to use your free goody bag throughout the film and suggest some appropriate heckles and accompanying actions. Then, you sit back and watch the original 1965 movie in glorious Technicolor with the lyrics for all the songs on screen, so you won’t miss a chance to sing your hearts out. The audience takes over as the star of the show from this point and almost anything can happen – the first rule of Sing-a-long is THERE ARE NO RULES!
